4. Mike Zimmer, Minnesota Vikings

Mike Zimmer is one of the bigger names on this list. He has had an up and down stint with the Minnesota Vikings. He is a decent Head Coach in the NFL and will become one again if he wants to. It might take a little bit of time but he is good enough to get another chance.

The Vikings are becoming more and more irrelevant as the years go by and that leads to people losing their jobs. Zimmer is well above 500 with his record while coaching Minnesota but that isn’t good enough. He hasn’t won a playoff game in a couple of seasons.

Minnesota doesn’t seem to be on a path to make the playoffs again this year and that would mean back-to-back seasons without appearances. Some ownership groups in the NFL are more patient and they could be with Zimmer since his status around the league is good. The Vikings just seem to need a fresh start and that normally begins with letting your Head Coach go.

With all of that said, this coach might be the safest of those on the hot seat this year. Many franchises know that you could do worse than Zimmer and that might lead to Minnesota keeping him in the position. He is on this list and is more likely to be fired than not with the team’s current trajectory but this firing could be delayed until 2022.
