5 NFL Head Coaches that could be fired during the 2021 season

1. Matt Nagy, Chicago Bears

Matt Nagy has been coaching the Chicago Bears for four seasons now but it seems like his time is running out. The team is average so far in their 2021 campaign. That is not good enough if you have been coaching a squad for as long of a stint as Nagy has.

His career with the Bears has not all been terrible, he has a solid overall record that sits above 500 currently. The biggest scrutiny with this coach is he has not been able to produce any playoff wins. Perhaps all the failures shouldn’t fall onto just one person but a lot of the time, that’s how the NFL goes.

Head Coaches get the blame for the failures of their teams. Perhaps having Mitch Trubisky as your starter for the majority of your tenure sets you up for failure. Believing in a player that is not a good quarterback doesn’t work out too often though. Many people lose their jobs because of that and Nagy is running out of time.

Justin Fields is going to be a good player but this entire leadership by the Bears has not given much for their rookie to work with. Their offensive line is suspect and they need another weapon for Fields to utilize. The defense is still good but they need to find a new direction with another Head Coach going forward. One that will lean more offensive-minded than defensive as Nagy has.

The NFL constantly has turnover with head coaches across the league. These were the top names that could be fired as the season gets closer to ending.
