Steelers ILB Joe Schobert

This was a revenge game for Joe Schobert. He was drafted by the Browns in 2016. Schobert and pretty much the entire defense played well today but why he stands out is because he forced a Jarvis Landry fumble with 6:14 left in the game, the game’s only turnover. Schobert also made 9 tackles and was a force in stopping the run game like he has been so far during the whole season.

In addition, Schobert led the team in tackles this week. He has played well as the linebacker with the ‘green dot’ on his helmet and has earned more playing time than Devin Bush this year by 86 snaps. Schobert and company held the Browns to just 96 yards and a touchdown on the ground and gave up limited long-run plays.

Schobert was the best tackler on the field and has been the entire season as the team has had problems wrapping up. Trading for Joe has paid off so far and his tackling and strength paired with Devin Bush’s speed and playmaking ability will pay off in some kind of way eventually, but for now Bush is still recovering from his ACL tear back in 2020.

The Steelers had a few other notable performers this week, but these three players stood above the rest. We will see if they can carry these impressive performances into Week 9 against the Bears.
