Defensive positional grades

Defensive line: A

Going up against one of the top rushing attacks in football, the defensive line was able to do their part in containing the run game. After limiting the run, they were able to successfully get after Baker Mayfield with their pass rush, as the Steelers finished with four sacks. The tempo was set up front for the great defensive game that Pittsburgh had.

Linebackers: A

Nick Chubb has ran for more than 80 yards in every game he’s played in this season, prior to Sunday. Thanks to the Steelers’ linebackers, he was limited to 61 yards on 16 carries. The defensive front had a phenomenal day recording four tackles for a loss, keeping Cleveland under 100 rushing yards and allowing just one touchdown.

Secondary: A-

One scroll through Browns Twitter, and the frustration with Cleveland’s receiving unit is evident. Part of that is due to Cleveland’s mishaps, but the Steelers’ secondary also played well. They were able to limit the Browns to completing 20-of-31 passes for only 225 yards and no touchdowns.
