Steelers must pursue Aaron Rodgers

Of the three quarterbacks on the list, Aaron Rodgers is the one I would love to have most. However, he might also be the most unrealistic of the three. Though Rodgers doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract, he has voiced that he would love to play out west, and Las Vegas and Denver seem like two potential landing spots for him.

However, if he is open to coming to Pittsburgh — a city he has praised in the past — the Steelers could be Super Bowl favorites in no time. The Packers don’t have the most talented roster in the NFL, but Rodgers is so good that he can make up for all of the team’s deficiencies.

The reigning NFL MVP is coming off a 48 touchdown, 5 interception season in which he led the NFL in adjusted yards per attempt (9.6) and passer rating (121.5), via Pro Football Reference. It was one of the single-best seasons from a quarterback the league has ever seen. Rodgers has continued that dominant run into this season.

Acquiring Aaron Rodgers via trade is going to cost Pittsburgh a pretty penny, and the team will likely need to give him a contract extension after his arrival. However, you can’t put a price on having an MVP quarterback who has the potential to win multiple Super Bowls over the next 5-6 years, and Rodgers brings exactly that.

The Steelers could elect to rebuild via the 2022 NFL Draft, but they should be making calls often about these three quarterbacks early next offseason. Any of the three will help Pittsburgh get right back on top again.
