Steelers: 3 things Pittsburgh must do to win against the Chicago Bears
1. Steelers must win the turnover battle
Winning the turnover battle is every team’s goal entering games, but for Pittsburgh, it is crucial. The Steelers’ offense is still struggling to consistently produce, so one turnover could very well decide the game.
Every game that Ben Roethlisberger has thrown an interception in, Pittsburgh has lost, contrastly, the Steelers win every game that they have a positive or even turnover margin. The fumble that Joe Schobert forced and T.J. Watt recovered near Pittsburgh’s red zone may have very well saved Sunday’s game against the Browns.
While Roethlisberger and the offense will focus on not giving the ball away, the defense has to be aggressive in generating turnovers, especially since they are facing a team that will hand the ball over. Fields, with all of his talent, is still a young quarterback and that has shown with his seven interceptions.
This Steelers’ defense must play the aggressive brand of football they did in 2020 and take the ball away more often. By doing that, they will give their offense more chances to get things rolling and put points on the board.
This primetime home game is a very winnable contest for the Steelers, but the Bears will come to compete. Pittsburgh must make sure to execute on all ends as the team works to secure their fourth straight victory.
