DE Akiem Hicks

Akiem Hicks would be a great addition to the Steelers’ defensive line. With Tyson Alualu out, the run defense weakens and there isn’t a big guy to help stop the run like Akiem Hicks. Although used as a defensive end in Chicago, he is bigger than their defensive tackle and would be good at that position. Hicks has done most of his work in Chicago and his track record is impressive.

What Akiem does best is get into the backfield, whether it’s sacks, TFLs, or just hitting the QB after the play, he does it a lot. Hicks would also provide depth at the position where Carlos Davis and Isiah Buggs hold roster spots and would be a veteran presence at that position.

Akiem Hicks would do a great job at stopping the run and he is quite athletic for someone of his size. The Steelers have missed this type of player since Casey Hampton and found it in Tyson Alualu, now a elite run stopper is nowhere to be found. The run defense will be fine, but it would be nice to not be gashed by guys like Alex Collins. Akiem Hicks is 31, but still good and would complement the Steelers defensive line.

The Bears have a few other notable players like Eddie Jackson or Khalil Mack, but these three players would still be welcomed by fans and would help the Steelers by putting on entertaining performances.
