Defense will keep Bears’ offense in check

The Chicago Bears are coming into this game as one of the worst offensive scoring teams in the league. They are only averaging 15.4 points a game, which is ranked 31st in the NFL. The Steelers defense is currently 7th best in points allowed at 20.3 a game.

The Bears offensive line has allowed 30 sacks, six hits, and 54 hurries to their quarterbacks this year. The Steelers are one of the best at getting to the quarterback, so there should be a lot of chances to take down Justin Fields and possibly cause some turnovers on Monday. They are currently ranked 10th best in sacks through 8 games with 19 in total. T.J Watt currently has 8.5 of those on the short season.

If the Steelers defense can cause timely turnovers and give the offense a short field, the game should not be close. Chicago is reliant on the run game and the Steelers are 7th best in the league in rushing yards allowed per game. This should force Justin Fields to throw the ball and the rookie may be prone to make some mistakes while doing so. With a Bears team that cannot score and a Steelers defense that keeps teams off the board, this is another reason why Pittsburgh will win.
