4 burning questions the Steelers must answer vs. the Bears
By Andrew Falce
Can the Steelers beef up their turnovers?
One thing this Steelers defense was over the past two years was opportunistic. Players all over the defense would come up with ways to get the ball back to the offense. Through either well-timed route jumps or vicious hits, the defense was finding ways to get the ball back to the offense on a short field, and it as this team was regularly pushing for the playoffs.
This year has been a different story. With so much defensive turmoil in the secondary, this team has opted to play softer coverages and be less aggressive as a whole. While that has limited the big play, it has also limited the turnover rate, as the team only has two interceptions. That can and should change this week against the Bears as this offense has been very prone to bad takeaways.
It will be disappointing if the Steelers continue to be lackluster in the turnover department after this week. This group should be in store for an interception or two and continue to add to their fumble numbers. This is an advantageous matchup for the Steelers, and they need to take advantage of playing a mistake-filled Bears offense.
