Alternate point total (UNDER 42.5)

Somehow oddsmakers always find a way to place that point total just where I’m thinking the game will probably end up going. Fortunately, WynnBET offers alternate totals. Right now, the over/under point total for the game is set at 39.0, and I feel like this could go either way.

Instead, I think taking the UNDER on the alternate point total of 42.5 is a wise idea. According to Team Rankings, the Steelers and Bears have combined to score just 34.3 points per game this season. Though it seems likely they could hit the UNDER again this week, I feel very confident that these two teams won’t combine to score more than 42 points — especially considering the defense is the strength of both units.

Though betting over or under on the original point total gives you a slightly better payout (-110), it’s safer to take the alternate line of UNDER 42.5 (-175).

The Steelers defense is pretty healthy, and I think this has the makings to be a defensive struggle with both offenses having a hard time moving the ball.
