Steelers should pursue Chris Godwin in 2022

Finding open receivers has been a struggle for Ben Roethlisberger. Pittsburgh’s starting quarterback is ranked behind Jalen Hurts and Daniel Jones in passing yards this season. Both quarterbacks have reached the 1,800 yards passing mark.

Roethlisberger is twenty-nine yards short.

Chris Godwin could be a good addition to the Steelers’ receiving core. An addition like Godwin could aid the offensive passing scheme. Matt Canada could use Godwin’s abilities to stretch the field. Penn State’s former wide receiver has a record of over 4,000 yards receiving in five years.

In 2019, Tampa Bay’s wide receiver finished the season with eighty-six receptions. His 1,333 yards receiving was third-best in the NFL. Godwin has continued to impress NFL analysts as his career continues.

Playing closer to home may be an additional incentive for Tampa Bay’s star receiver to join the Steelers. Godwin’s high school and college alma moderns are both located in the tribal-state area.
