Steelers Roethlisberger has under 200 passing yards

On paper, the Steelers offense should be relatively simple this week. The Bears boast one of the league’s worst passing units despite a relatively strong rushing unit. Assuming the defense can keep them in check, the offense will only have to focus on using up the clock to get the win. That means the game should flow through the running offense, especially considering the fact that the Bears have struggled to stop the run.

Thus, I think Ben Roethlisberger has a quiet game. He doesn’t have to take many deep shots and instead focuses on keeping the chains moving when needed to go through the air. It is a game of check-downs to Pat Freiermuth and Diontae Johnson, but that is all the team needs to do to win. This leads to a mistake-free passing offense and one that focuses on being physical with the Bears’ defense to win.

All said, no Steelers receiver has more than 50 yards receiving, and the passing offense as a whole remains under 200 total yards. The focus is instead on the running game keeping the offense going forward while the defense stifles the Bears’ attempts at moving the ball. Roethlisberger doesn’t look great, but he doesn’t have to in order to get this win.
