Steelers OLB T.J. Watt

T.J. Watt had himself a night feasting on Chicago’s offensive line. Watt totaled 3 sacks, 3 TFL, 3 QB hits, and 7 total tackles during Pittsburgh’s 29-27 win on Monday night. Watt also reached a career milestone of 60 sacks while moving up to 7th all-time on Pittsburgh’s all-time sack leaderboard.

T.J. seemed to be in the backfield all night making Justin Fields uncomfortable and plugging the run lanes. He also forced the 65-yard field goal attempt by deflecting a pass that was intended to gain more yardage to shorten the attempt as much as possible. He has been pressuring QBs a lot this year and getting them to move around so they are easier to sack or tackle if they scramble, like Justin Fields.

Watt now has 10.5 sacks through 7 games this season and might end up near the 20 sack mark or even at it if he catches a couple of breaks as he did on one of his sacks on Monday. The 27-year old has had favorable matchups through some of the last few games and he faces another one next week against the Lions, or so it’s thought. T.J. Watt has balled out all season and the thought still lingers: is he underpaid?
