Despite a rocky fourth quarter, the Steelers were able to squeak past the Chicago Bears, thanks in part to some key performances.

Entering the second half of their game against the Chicago Bears, the Steelers looked like they had the game in their hands, up 14-3 and getting the ball first after halftime, however, things quickly shifted.

Thanks to the help of penalties on the Bears, as well as players stepping up when it mattered most, the Steelers were able to come away with a win and move to 5-3 on the season. Here are three players who stepped up and helped lead the team to victory in Week 9:

3. Steelers DL Cameron Heyward

One of Pittsburgh’s best performers all season long turned in yet another dominant performance on primetime. Cameron Heyward serves as a leader both on and off the field for the team and seems to always perform at his best when the team needs him most.

The defensive captain totaled two tackles, a pass defensed, and an interception on the game while also adding three quarterback hits.

Heyward’s presence was felt throughout the game, and at 32 years old continues to play at an extremely high level, while showing why he is still one of the very best defensive linemen the NFL has to offer.

Heyward will look to spend out the rest of his career in the black and gold, after signing a contract extension in the offseason. If he can sustain this level of play for another year or two he will be looked back at as one of the true greats that has ever donned a Steelers uniform, which for a franchise as storied as the Steelers, is an immense feat.
