The Steelers have had a tough time in the last decade or so at finding and drafting cornerbacks. If you look at the current corner depth chart only a few names pop out at you. It’s no question the Steelers need more options at the corner position and I think Buster Skrine would be a great addition.

Although he is 32, he is a rental and a cheap rental. What sticks out about Skrine is since 2018 he has held his own in coverage, allowing 4 touchdowns in 2018 & 2019 and a 65.3% and 59.3% completion percentage in those same years. 2019 was a great year for the 32-year old, he allowed 3.8 yards after the catch, 5.7 yards per catch, played in all 16 games, and recorded the 59.3% completion percentage.

Injuries are always a big thing with the Steelers too, this move would also help heal the wound if someone were to get injured. The veteran would be a good pick-up if the Steelers need corner help and he would play better than most free-agent cornerbacks right now.
