Prediction: Steelers 25, Lions 20

This game has an odd feel to it especially after how the game last week went against the Bears. The Steelers should walk into this and leave with relative ease against a team like this. They have struggled to beat the easier opponents before and it could happen again.

The Lions are coming off their bye week and that will play a bigger factor in this game as well. The black and gold are heading into this one after a tough win on a shorter week than usual. Those factors of rest and preparation might cause an issue.

Another issue will be Jared Goff and the way he plays. He has become more and more of a check-down type thrower and those usually cause concern for this defense. That will take away the pressure at times and make more manageable downs.

This defense is going to have to tackle well in this secondary to stop any big plays and to create long down and distances. They need to force Goff to make longer throws down the field so they can apply pressure and cause turnovers. With all that said, Pittsburgh should emerge victoriously after this one concludes.

It is going to be closer than most experts are thinking as the home club has struggled in the past with these types of opponents. The Lions are just a dysfunctional football club that won’t find much luck in the win column. It should be an easier win for the black and gold but they will make it closer than it needs to be.

The Steelers will be huge favorites to win this game over a terrible Detroit team. The home club should walk away with a victory when the clock strikes zero.
