Steelers WR/PR Ray-Ray McCloud
Ray-Ray McCloud doesn’t get a ton of usage on offense, and he hasn’t earned more than 3 catches or 33 receiving yards in a single game this season for the Steelers. So when he does step on the field, we just hope that something negative doesn’t happen.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case on Monday Night Football. After Pittsburgh held a 23-10 lead with roughly 6:30 remaining in the fourth quarter, they were set to have possession of the ball once more. With at least three downs and the opportunity to move the chains a few times, the Steelers could have essentially put this game on ice.
However, a Ray-Ray fumble on a punt return was scooped up by the Bears and returned for a touchdown. This was a devastating blow to a team that had been in the driver’s seat all game long.
McCloud hasn’t offered much as a return man, and now it seems we have to worry about him hanging onto the ball. I didn’t think the receiver/return specialist offered much to this team before, but somehow his stock just dropped even lower.
