Steelers LB Devin Bush

If our disappointment in a player is weighted based on the draft capital used on him, Devin Bush would be at the top of the list. While Bush hasn’t been the worst linebacker in the league, you certainly can’t make a case that he’s been worth a fraction of what the Steelers gave up to get him.

Pittsburgh spent a first and second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft to move up and land Bush with the 10th overall pick, but they are getting third or fourth-round play out of him right now.

Obviously, we are hoping this is still due to recovering from an ACL tear he suffered last year, but the more he plays, the less we can continue to use this as an excuse. The Steelers inside linebacker was involved in just 3 tackles against the Bears and misread the play on several occasions.

His best play of the night came on a pass defense in the second half, but really, it was a dropped interception that he should have come down with. Devin Bush still has upside, but with each passing week, it’s getting harder and harder to believe he will live up to his costly billing. Let’s hope he turns things around fast.
