3. Steelers must force more turnovers

Last year, when the Steelers finished the regular season 12-4, it was because their defense was playing light out and generated a ton of turnovers— 27 total, second in the NFL.

While still a good defense, Pittsburgh only has eight takeaways through 9 games. To improve their Super Bowl odds, they will have t drive that number way up. Unfortunately for this defense, they carry the burden of having to be extraordinary.

With the offensive struggles, the Pittsburgh defense must force opposing teams to make costly mistakes, and give the Steelers offense plenty of opportunities to score. With players like TJ Watt, Minkah Fitzpatrick, and Joe Schobert, who have a knack for forcing turnovers, it’s certainly possible.

The Steelers defense must make taking the ball away a team initiative moving forward, and if they are successful, they will improve the team’s status as a contender.
