The Steelers need depth everywhere

Now is the time where Pittsburgh may end up getting crucified for letting Melvin Ingram out of town at the trade deadline. I get that he wasn’t happy. That falls back on the organization having to find a way to compromise with him to keep him here.

Watt is injured and the extent of the injury is still unknown. Taco Charlton is a spot reserve at this point in his career, yet what happens if Highsmith gets dinged up? The Steelers most important position on defense is out of depth.

The Black and Gold did very little to replace Hilton and Nelson when they left this offseason. I understand feeling that they have guys who can come in and replace them as starters. Yet, there was nothing done to add depth. the secondary was great in 2020 because someone like James Pierre was a backup.

He can start, but you are losing a great depth piece because that piece now has to start. The Steelers are running out of people to come in when injuries occur. Had another corner been injured after Haden I have no idea what the plan would be for the rest of the game against the Lions let alone afterward.
