7 oldest NFL players to ever wear a Pittsburgh Steelers uniform

2. Steelers P Bobby Walden
Age 39 years, 9.1 months
Bobby Walden’s 14-year NFL career spanned over what many seasoned football fans were the toughest era in NFL history. Fortunately, for him, a good punter could still last a long time in that environment.
Walden played his first four seasons for the Minnesota Vikings before sporting the black and gold from 1968 all the way to 1977. During this time, he averaged 41.6 yards per punt and was elected to the Pro Bowl once, via Pro Football Reference.
At 39 years and just over 9 months old, Walden was one of the oldest players in the history of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Walen passed away in August of 2018 at the age of 80.
Over the span of his impressive NFL career, Walden amassed 40,529 yards on 974 punts — 716 of which came as a member of the Steelers. At nearly forty years old at the time of his final game with the team, something tells me he is going to be on this list for a very long time.
