Steelers WR Diontae Johnson

Diontae Johnson flashed his improved hands and dependable footwork once more on primetime. Johnson caught a fairly deep pass from his QB and had to catch it with a defender right on him while scraping his feet inbounds to complete the pass. Later he caught a touchdown in the far corner of the endzone with another defender over him and had to adjust to catch the ball and keep his feet in bounds.

Johnson ended his day with 7 catches, 101 yards, and a touchdown. He spent the offseason working on his hands to commit fewer drops and it has worked so far. Not only does he zero drops this year but he has also benefited from the work and it seems like he is catching tougher passes and it also looks like he worked on his balance. He has caught many passes that require him to adjust to the ball and he has not let down anyone. Diontae just seems to be a better player and receiver this year.

Diontae Johnson has been targeted the most out of his career and has racked up career-high yards per attempt and is just being targeted more. He has 59 catches, 714 yards, and 4 touchdowns, he has definitely taken a leap. He has been a much more reliable target for Big Ben and seems more confident in his play. Once the team gets healthy, the offense should be more of a spotlight and Diontae Johnson will be in the spotlight.
