2nd Round- OT Jaxson Kirkland, Washington

In the second round of the draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers really need to address the offensive line. That is why I believe the best option in this round would be Jaxson Kirkland from the University of Washington.

Kirkland stands at 6’7” and weighs close to 320lbs. He has started every game at left tackle this year but can also play right tackle or guard. This would give the Steelers some options on where they might want to put him because of his versatility on the line.

In 7 games this year, Kirkland has allowed only 3 sacks, 1 hit, 7 hurries, and 11 pressures on the quarterback. This has him at a 97.3% efficiency rate. The Steelers are in desperate need of more talent on the offensive line and I believe Kirkland fits into their future plans.

Kirkland is a massive guy that can help protect a young quarterback on his blind side, which could give a rookie quarterback like Pickett some confidence and trust. These first two picks are a must for the Steelers in the 2022 draft if they want to continue to be a force in the AFC North. I believe that Kirkland is their guy at this round of the draft.
