5. DeAngelo Williams

When DeAngelo Williams signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2015, he was signed as the backup to Le’Veon Bell. However, he became an integral part of the team’s success, as Bell missed plenty of time due to injury and suspension during Williams’ two-year stint in Pittsburgh.

According to Pro Football Reference, Williams started 14 games in Pittsburgh and played in 25. Over that time, he rushed for 1,250 yards and 15 touchdowns, while adding 58 receptions for 485 yards and two touchdowns through the air.

Despite these two seasons coming during his age 32 and 33 seasons, Williams proved he still had juice left in the tank, and could still play at a high level when he was called upon. While Bell was arguably the best running back in the league at this time, the team didn’t miss a beat when Williams stepped in his place.

Even though he only spent two years in Pittsburgh, Williams made his presence felt and proved to be an extremely underrated player on a Steelers’ offense that boasted Roethlisberger, Bell, Brown, and Martavis Bryant. Had he spent more time in the black and gold, Williams likely would have placed even higher on this list.
