During the 2010s, the Steelers had one of the NFL’s best offensive lines, as they featured perennial Pro Bowlers, such as Maurkice Pouncey, David DeCastro, and Alejandro Villanueva. However, one player who helped bolster that line is Ramon Foster, yet he never got the respect that the other three got.

Despite never making a Pro Bowl, Foster was a steady starter for the Steelers, who started 145 games between 2009 and 2019, according to Pro Football Reference. During his time in Pittsburgh, the Steelers offensive line helped generate one of the league’s most potent offenses, with Ben Roethlisberger slinging the ball to the like of Antonio Brown, Le’Veon Bell, Martavis Bryant, Heath Miller, Juju Smith-Schuster, and many more.

While he was not a household name for typical NFL fans, he was a name that Steelers fans could rely on to pencil into the lineup for at least 14 games each year. As with many of the top offensive linemen, Foster’s name was rarely mentioned during broadcasts, and despite that, the rushing attack and passing protection would not have been nearly as effective without his presence up front.
