Steelers OT Dan Moore Jr.

Out of all of the things I would like to see happen for the remainder of this year for the Steelers, progress from Dan Moore is near the top of the list. Outside of quarterback, there isn’t another position on the team quite as valuable as your left tackle. Unfortunately, this was not a good performance from the rookie.

Moore really struggled when Ben Roethlisberger would hold the football for any length of time and Trey Hendrickson gave him fits on the edge. Moore’s poor play helped contribute to one of the worse offensive performances we have seen in years for the Steelers, and the protection and run blocking must be better up front.

It’s hard to expect too much from your fourth-round rookie. While I love Moore’s movement skills and upside, his play has plateaued halfway through the season, and has he started to trend in the wrong direction in recent weeks.

I still have hope that Dan Moore can improve and have a promising NFL career, but his performance in Week 12 didn’t help his cause.

The Steelers have plenty of other performances that fell short of expectations against the Bengals, but these six players have a lot to prove entering Week 13.
