Steelers seventh-round pick (trade): RB Kennedy Brooks

The Pittsburgh Steelers took a running back with the 24th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, so taking one high this year certainly isn’t something they will explore. However, there’s a good chance they could explore running back late in the draft.

Najee Harris has struggled at times as a rookie (partially due to poor offensive line play), but the depth behind him is atrocious. Benny Snell and Kalen Ballage have been astronomically bad for this football team, and there’s a good chance neither of them is back on the Steelers in 2022. Meanwhile, Anthony McFarland is always banged up and he has yet to show much promise.

Kennedy Brooks has had a big hand in Oklahoma’s high-powered offenses since 2018. During his time with the Sooners, Brooks has rushed for 3,174 yards and 27 touchdowns on 6.9 yards per carry. This was despite missing the entire 2020 season.

Brooks doesn’t offer much as a receiver, but he could be a solid change of pace for the Steelers and could spell Najee Harris from time to time.
