The Steelers will need to bounce back this week against the Ravens, and in order to do so, they will have to answer these four questions.
The Steelers had an abysmal loss last week to the Bengals, and the road only gets tougher from here. This week, the team needs a big win against the Ravens. While Baltimore is a daunting team, they are certainly are beatable.
In order to have a shot at a win this week, the Steelers must answer these four questions against the Ravens.
Can the Steelers cover Brown?
The Steelers’ defense was a disaster on all fronts this week against the Bengals, and the secondary was no exception. In order to have any shot of winning, the corners will have to play better this week than they did last. All season though these defensive backs have struggled primarily with one thing though: stopping the deep pass.
That means will have to be focused on preventing Marquise Brown from winning deep this week. Looking over the rostered receivers, Brown poses the biggest threat. While he can be inconsistent at times, he has serious speed that can kill any defense. If the Steelers look past him or opt to cover him one-on-one, he can find a multitude of ways to hurt this defense.
The defensive backs struggled last week, and that will have to change this week. The Ravens don’t have a potent passing game, as they only have Brown and Mark Andrews with over 25 catches and 355 yards to this point. That said, if the team allows Brown to play to his strengths, he can and will make some big plays against this defense.
