How will Steelers Bush compare to Queen?

It is no secret that Devin Bush has struggled heavily this year coming off of his injury in 2021. There isn’t much that he is doing well at this point, and the possibility of a benching should be squarely on the table. The Ravens drafted a very similar style of player to Bush a year later in Patrick Queen, and while he hasn’t been dominant, it will be interesting to see who has the bigger impact in this game.

While Queen wasn’t drafted as high as Bush was, he was expected to come in and start right away. That said, he has had his personal struggles with coverage and tackling. At the very least though, Queen has been an aggressive player at the line and has tried to make plays in run defense. While he has been streaky, he has been the better player than Bush has even if both have been disappointing.

The question then is which of these two similar players has the bigger impact this week. Both will be tasked with covering good tight ends and stopping a talented runner, and both will be counted on to lead their defenses. Queen gets the advantage right now due to his aggression on plays. He makes a decision and sticks with it, which is better than waiting and getting blocked out of a play. That said, this is a player vs. player comparison that Bush desperately needs to win at by the end of the game.
