Steelers Pierre has a rebound game

One of the worst aspects of the Steelers’ defense was James Pierre. The second-year corner has had an up and down season, but his play had recently turned a corner and he was playing extremely well in coverage. He was forced to start last week due to Haden being out, and he easily had his worst performance of the year. He was toasted all over the field and gave up an ugly touchdown to Tee Higgins.

While his play won’t be perfect this week, I think he rebounds slightly against the Ravens. While he does allow a few catches, including one of the deep passes to Brown, he also gets back to his turnover ways. He has a key interception in the third corner as well as forces an early fumble after a completed pass to Mark Andrews.

Add in a pair of pass defenses and overall and Pierre rebounds well. While last week was a disaster, Pierre has shown the capability to have a short memory of these things. Against Denver, he gave up a touchdown just to win the game on the following drive with an interception. That shows up again this week and the Steelers corner has a solid bounce-back game.
