Steelers OG John Leglue

Anytime a team is down to their fifth option at the guard position, it’s hard to expect anything close to adequate play. However, John Leglue offered much more than that against the Ravens in Week 13.

Leglue saw the field in the most unlikely of circumstances as all four of Kevin Dotson, J.C. Hassenauer, Joe Haeg, and B.J. Finney being injured ahead of him on the roster. Needless to say, he didn’t disappoint. the 25-year-old made the most of his first 57 regular-season snaps. He displayed violent hands and good athleticism to get to the second level.

While the running game still struggled as a whole, Leglue and Dan Moore were responsible for some of the only big runs of the afternoon against the Ravens. Pittsburgh has gotten such bland play across the board on the offensive line this year, and Leglue was surprisingly a bright spot on their offense in Week 13.

Though Kevin Dotson should certainly get his job back when he returns from IR, I think Leglue played well enough to hold down the fort until then. He has certainly caught the attention of this team.
