Steelers must Double-team Justin Jefferson

I’ve already written about Justin Jefferson a few times this week, as I believe slowing him down will be key in this contest. Fortunately, for the Steelers, they won’t have to worry about Adam Thielen in Week 14 as he has been ruled out for this week. This means the team should be able to focus additional attention on Jefferson.

Though he’s still just 22 years old, Jefferson is one of the most electrifying young receivers in the NFL and he’s on pace for an incredible season. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh will be without Joe Haden in this contest, and Ahkello Witherspoon is expected to get the nod in his stead.

While Witherspoon had a solid game against the Ravens last week, he gets a much different test as the ball will come out in timing to a remarkable route-runner in Jefferson. With his outstanding big-play ability, the Steelers must make sure they devote enough attention to one of the best wide receivers in the league this week.

If the Steelers can do these three things, they will stand a great chance of advancing to 7-5-1 on the season and will be that much closer to a playoff berth. Pittsburgh gets another really banged-up team this week, and they must be able to capitalize in order to avoid disaster.
