Safety- Xavier Woods, Minnesota

Pittsburgh will have to make a decision on if they want to try and resign Terrell Edmunds for next season or not. I think it would be best for both parties to move on from each other and let Edmunds test free agency for the 2022 season. Instead, the Steelers should go out and sign a more reliable safety in Xavier Woods.

Xavier Woods is by far the better of the two when it comes to stopping the run. He also makes a lot more splash plays compared to Edmunds. The Steelers have lacked in stopping the run and creating turnovers, so Woods would be perfect to sign for 2022. He currently has 53 solo tackles, 9 assists, 2 forced fumbles, 2 interceptions, 1 sack, and just 5 missed tackles on the year.

Woods is currently getting paid 1.75 million on the year and the Steelers should offer him around 4-5 million a year for 4 years. I think that would get him to come to Pittsburgh. He will only be 27 years of age which would give the Steelers the peak of his career. If the Steelers can sign J.C Jackson and Xavier Woods next off-season, this defense will be a force in the secondary.
