Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger
Before you get upset, Ben Roethlisberger isn’t on this list because he has been playing poorly; rather, the Steelers are in such bad shape right now that he’s going to have to play at an even higher level in order to give Pittsburgh a shot at the playoffs this year.
While all teams suffer from injuries each season, the injuries to the Steelers loom particularly large, as players like Stephon Tuitt, Tyson Alualu, and JuJu Smith-Schuster could have made a big difference on a team that severely lacks quality depth.
Big Ben has actually played some of the best football in a few years over the past few weeks, and he has done so without a great offensive line or running game to help him out. Sadly, the Steelers are going to be outmatched talent-wise against nearly every team remaining on their schedule.
Teams live and die by the quarterback position, and although Roethlisberger has been impressive considering he is in his 18th NFL season, he’s going to have to kick it up one more notch to make up for the deficiencies on the team.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are currently longshots to make the playoffs, but if these four players are able to play really well down the stretch, they could have a shot at making the tournament this year.
