1. Malik Willis could improve Steelers offense for years

With Ben Roethlisberger’s career coming to an end, Pittsburgh must set its focus on finding a franchise quarterback for the future. While the protection and pass-catching can most likely be found in free agency, the next quarterback will probably come from the draft.

It’s not evident that this 2022 draft class has a unanimous top quarterback prospect, but it does have a number of guys who are lighting up the stat sheets on Saturdays. One of those guys is Liberty  University’s Malik Willis.

After two years with Auburn, Willis has played his last two seasons with Liberty and has emerged as one of the best college quarterbacks in the nation. His precise deep ball and electric running ability has captivated many fans as they project how he will fare at the next level.

Setting your hopes on drafting a specific player is always tough because it’s hard to control draft order and teams never know who will be selected before they are on the clock. If Pittsburgh is in the position to draft Willis, they should. A look at his film, and it is evident why many rave about him. He does come with some question marks, like all young quarterbacks, but he has a good foundation.

His dual-threat ability will add to the growing trend of franchise quarterbacks who can threaten defenses through the air and on the ground. The Steelers have seen how that is benefiting others, so they would be wise to follow suit.

All three of these guys listed will help improve the Steelers’ offense drastically. It will be a challenge for Pittsburgh to actually land any of them, but they should definitely pursue. In the event that they get one of these players to the Steel City, the offense will take big strides toward improvement.
