Steelers roster is starving for talent

This has got to be one of the biggest fears of Steelers fans right now. As much as it pains us to admit it, this team just doesn’t have a lot of talent to build around moving forward.

By my assessment, Pittsburgh has three strong core offensive players that they can start to build around. Those include Diontae Johnson, Pat Freiermuth, and Najee Harris. Likewise, There are only a few defensive players we can truly count on to be staples to this team in the future — T.J. Watt, Minkah Fitzpatrick, and perhaps Alex Highsmith and Cameron Sutton.

The point is, the rest of the roster truly is made of up-average starters or replacement-level players who don’t make much of an impact. In addition, as good as a player like Cameron Heyward is, he’s only going to be around a few more years.

The Steelers have a plethora of needs that must be addressed and not a fraction of the draft capital they truly need. This team is starving for talent and they need to be focused on finding more cornerstone players who could build up this roster for the future.
