4. Steelers should pursue Terron Armstead

From the defensive line to the offensive line, but this need is a lot more urgent for Pittsburgh. The offensive line struggles of the last two seasons have been obviously apparent. The Steelers have struggled to run the ball, and give Roethlisberger less time to throw than any other quarterback. While they have made marginal strides, it’s crucial that they find outside help to continue improving.

Pittsburgh’s search for help should start with left tackle Terron Armstead. In nine seasons with the New Orleans Saints, Armstead has been one of the best tackles in all of football— the third-highest graded left tackle according to Pro Football Focus. The three-time Pro Bowler has also been relatively durable, starting 90 games in his career.

For the Steelers, this move is a no-brainer, but the challenge will be wooing him away from New Orleans. Armstead has signed an extension once to stay with the Saints and they experienced a lot of success, so it can be assumed that he enjoys playing for them. If Pittsburgh wants to land the 30-year-old tackle, it may come down to a bidding war. Somewhere around $15 million annually could land Armstead, and while a lot, the investment would be well worth it.
