Steelers should entertain offers for Devin Bush
Sadly, Devin Bush has done almost nothing to increase his trade value over the past year if the Steelers even have an inkling of thought about moving on from him. However, considering that he was a former top-10 pick in the NFL Draft and is still just 23 years old, there are certain to be teams out there who would be calling if Bush was put on the trade block.
While I’m not writing off any chance of Bush becoming a great player for this team, the chances seem slim after what we witnessed this season. On tape, he has been swallowed up against the run and too often looks lost in pass coverage.
Regardless of his struggles, Bush tested as a great athlete and still has very good speed for the linebacker position — enough to get potential suitors intrigued. Like Minkah Fitzpatrick who really struggled in his second season in Miami before being traded to the Steelers, sometimes all both sides need is a fresh start.
Devin Bush wouldn’t haul in a fraction of the draft capital used to acquire him, but if Pittsburgh is considering moving on from him after next season anyhow, it could be in their best interest to put him on the block.
