3. Steelers must find long-term offensive tackle

Between the contract sizes of left tackles and the 2009 film The Blind Side, the value of quality offensive tackles is evident. While it is important for Pittsburgh to go draft a quarterback, it is equally important that they find the right men to protect him to ensure the franchise has a bright future.

There are plenty of routes the Steelers can go to secure long-term answers at the tackle position. They can look to the draft like they did for rookie center Kendrick Green— there are plenty of offensive line options in later rounds if Pittsburgh drafts a quarterback early. The team can also acquire a veteran via trade or free agency.

Veterans Terron Armstead, Cam Robinson, and Duane Brown are just a few of the tackles that will be free agents in 2022. With the Steelers projected to have just under $46 million in cap space, they will be able to make a run at one of these established tackles, improving their offensive line and building the offense for the future.
