2. Steelers should pursue Stephon Gilmore

The former Defensive Player of the Year was traded from the New England to the Carolina Panthers earlier this year and has proven he is still elite after returning from a quad injury. Stephon Gilmore recorded an interception in each of his first two games with Carolina.

Part of the reason he left the Patriots was due to his desire for a new contract. He is currently finishing his previous contract and will look to be compensated like the player who was the best defender in the NFL just two seasons ago.

Gilmore is only 31, and has shown that he still has elite football in him; he should be a no-brainer target for Pittsburgh. He brings shutdown capabilities as well as a veteran presence that knows what it takes to lead a Super Bowl defense.

Adding Gilmore to a defense with Watt, Fitzpatrick and other quality players makes this one of the best in the league. The Steelers will have to be aggressive as it is likely Gilmore will have a robust market.
