Steelers must re-sign JuJu Smith-Schuster

With James Washington most likely leaving in free agency and Chase Claypool needing a little more time developing, this shouldn’t be a debate that needs to be started. JuJu isn’t just important as a receiver, he’s a big part of the run game because he blocks and does an exceptional job.

He is also a big part of the community and often gives Christmas gifts to local people and does a lot of charity work. Smith-Schuster gets a lot of hate outside the fan base and even some from inside it, which he deserves none of. JuJu is a big contributor on 3rd downs and other high-leverage situations and gets a lot of yards after the catch, which the Steelers need more of. You could even say JuJu has been a safety blanket for Ben Roethlisberger since he has been here and the offense clicks when he is lined up in a Steelers uniform.

JuJu Smith-Schuster is also one of the team’s many deep threats. He doesn’t have blazing speed but when you can score a 97-yard touchdown in back-to-back years, that should give him some credibility as a deep threat.

Many NFL teams could use a JuJu Smith-Schuster on their team and would pay him a fair amount, but hopefully, the Steelers use some of that cap room to bring him back for four more years just like he wants.
