3 impressive Steelers performances against the Browns
The Steelers show up on Monday night and deliver Big Ben his final victory at Heinz Field by a score of 26-14. Here are the standout performances.
I’m sure every fan got emotional after the game and if you didn’t then you are lying. The Steelers fully showed up for Ben’s last home game and not just for their QB1. The running game was working great on Monday and the defense put up 9 sacks on the Browns offense.
Ben was sent off from Heinz Field with an emotional goodbye and everything went right for #7 and company as the team swept the Browns one last time with their quarterback.
Steelers RB Najee Harris
Najee Harris had himself a career day on primetime. Harris ran for 188 yards and a touchdown while behind an offensive line that blocked very well against a heavy Cleveland front seven. Najee’s highlight of the night was the 37-yard touchdown he broke loose on when the Steelers were trying to run the clock out after recovering the onside kick, that score made it 26-14 with the extra point. Harris totaled 206 yards and eclipsed 1,000 rushing yards on the season and also surpassed Franco Harris for most rushing yards in a single season by a Steelers rookie.
Harris showed that he can be as impactful as Jerome Bettis was. His strength and ability to carry multiple players while gaining positive yardage was a big reason why the Steelers were able to score 26 points and get a rhythm going for a couple of drives. Harris will more than likely win the Joe Green Performance Award, the teams’ rookie of the year award, and hopefully with an improved offensive line next season, he will win the team MVP award sometime soon.
