Steelers losers: Benny Snell and the rushing game

The Steelers regressed back to their usual run struggles this week. An early injury to Najee Harris didn’t help, but this group was far from efficient this week. The team’s leading rusher was Chase Claypool, a pretty telling sign that the running backs weren’t getting the job done. That mixed with a bad performance from the line and it was another disappointing rushing performance.

A special shoutout to Benny Snell for playing objectively horribly this game. He received 12 rushes in this game and mustered all of 22 yards. He couldn’t find any space and ran with almost no power. Harris also deserves a shoutout here, as he was equally as ineffective, albeit he was better than Snell was.

Finally, the line was a wreck in this outing. Multiple penalties and next to no pushup front led this run offense being miserable once again. This was a week that they needed a stout-rushing game. They could have relied on that to get their offense going. Instead, the Steelers end their season designed around bringing the run game back with just as many questions as before.
