Steelers K Chris Boswell

The Steelers are once again sent home with a win because of Chris Boswell‘s big toe. The Steelers kicker booted a 36-yard game-winning field goal that eventually turned into a playoff berth on Sunday and he reminded us fans how lucky we are to have him in Pittsburgh.

Boswell also connected on a 40-yard field goal that put the Steelers up by 3 early in the game and made his only extra-point attempt on the day, going 3/3 from his efforts. Boz has had another successful season and was 36/40 (90%) this year while going 27/29 (93.1%) in the extra points category. Boswell was best from inside the 30 as he went 9/9, but missed just 2 kicks from the 40-49 range, going 11/13 on the season.

His longest field goal on the season was a 56-yarder, he ended up going 8/9 from 50+. The 30-year old will face the Cheifs in the playoffs for the second time in his career, previously he set an NFL record for most field goals kicked in a playoff game, he went 6/6 from the field and was the lone scorer in that AFC Divisional matchup.

The Steelers completed the season sweep of the Ravens for the second consecutive season and proved that in this rivalry, you don’t have to have a fantastic team to win. The Steelers will face the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football next week and hope to play a little bit better than last time they played, which ended in a 36-10 loss. These three players helped the Steelers win and without their key plays, it would have been much harder for the team to come out of Baltimore with a win.
