The Steelers may have made the playoffs, but the roster needs a major overhaul this offseason. Here are their top needs as we approach draft season.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are a deeply flawed team, and yet they still managed to secure their 18th consecutive non-losing season and a playoff berth. It did take some help from the Jacksonville Jaguars shocking the Indianapolis Colts, but Pittsburgh still had to take care of business against the Ravens. They managed to just barely get the overtime win 16-13, and now they will have a rematch against the Kansas City Chiefs.

That may be impressive, but it hides just how much work this roster needs if they want to be true contenders. There is a lot of decisions that need to be made correctly if this team wants to be more than just the average team we have all seen this season.

Between the impending retirement of Ben Roethlisberger and likely changes to several coaching positions, this offseason could make or break the Steelers next few seasons. The sheer amount of change that is expected to take place is alien to an organization known for its consistency and patience. After putting it off for far too long, the decision at QB will be the most interesting to follow.

This QB class hasn’t inspired much confidence up to this point, however, and several veteran passers could be available this offseason. The Steelers true biggest need is in the trenches, and there are multiple options that could help rebuild the stout offensive line fans had become accustomed to.
