Steelers CB Joe Haden

As bad as Robert Spillane was in this contest, Joe Haden was perhaps even more detrimental to the team. This was a matchup I wrote about prior to the game and I was very concerned with. In his first time around against Kansas City in Week 16, Haden allowed 7 catches on 7 targets for 107 yards and a touchdown, according to advanced stats from Pro Football Reference.

While some were predicting that he would perform much better in his second contest against the Chiefs this year, I didn’t see the reasoning for that prediction. This was just an awful matchup. Because of Haden’s lack of speed, I knew he was going to get burnt a few times, and he certainly did.

Haden allowed 5 of 6 passes to be completed in his coverage for 49 yards and surrendered a touchdown. This equated to a 140.3 passer rating allowed.

I have written about Joe Haden numerous times this year, as he has entered cornerback decline age. He is a free agent this offseason, and the Steelers should have no interest in bringing him back after the way he has disappointed this season — even on a one-year deal.
