Another quarterback who could be available for trade this offseason is Gardner Minshew. Minshew has starting experience in Jacksonville and was acquired this year by the Eagles to be the backup to Jalen Hurts. However, he played well in his two starts this year, tossing four touchdown passes, and only one interception.

In his three years in the NFL, Minshew has made 22 starts and has thrown for 5,969 yards, 41 touchdown passes, and only 12 interceptions. Unlike the other options, Minshew may not be a long-term answer at quarterback, but if the Steelers or another team is looking for a one-year bridge quarterback, while a rookie learns the offense, then Minshew could be a perfect option.

Minshew is not known for immense upside, but instead, he’s known for being extremely accurate and his lack of turnovers. If Pittsburgh does decide that the draft is the way to find their quarterback, then acquiring Minshew could be a good move for the team, so that they can remain competitive in 2022 while they still have pieces such as Cameron Heyward on the roster playing at a high level.

Due to his profiling as a bridge option, and high-level backup quarterback long-term, Minshew shouldn’t command a high asking price in a trade, but could be very beneficial for the team who acquires him.
