With the Ben Roethlisberger era coming to an end, the Pittsburgh Steelers search for e new quarterback will begin shortly, starting at the Senior Bowl.

With the Steelers now out of the playoffs after their 42-21 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, their season isn’t the only thing that is over.

Along with their hopes at a seventh Super Bowl, the career of Ben Roethlisberger has ended. Now, for the first time in nearly two decades, the Steelers have to figure out a plan for the quarterback position.

With the Senior Bowl a mere two weeks away, there will be a big crop of talent that fans will want to keep their eyes on, as one of them could be the next signal-caller in Pittsburgh. Here are three quarterbacks to watch at the Senior Bowl.

3. Carson Strong, Nevada

Strong is someone who has gained traction as we have gotten closer to the NFL Draft. He had a very solid 2020 season in which he threw for just under 2,900 yards, 27 touchdowns, and just four interceptions in nine games. His production went up in 2021, throwing for over 4,000 yards and 36 touchdowns in his junior campaign with the Wolf Pack.

Strong isn’t incredibly mobile, but he can certainly move. He is more of a pocket passing quarterback, which is why he is No. 3 on the list. Mike Tomlin cited quarterback mobility as a valuable commodity, and there are more mobile guys than Strong in this class. That said, he has a good arm and is somewhat comparable to a young Roethlisberger with his pocket presence and sneaky athleticism paired with his 6-foot-4 frame.

He may not be linked to Pittsburgh in terms of consensus opinions and discussions, but Strong would be an excellent pick for the Steelers in the late stages of the second round.
