Reason No. 2: It would serve as payback to KC

The Chiefs didn’t exactly mind their own business on the way to their 4th-consecutive AFC Championship Game. Rather, they dealt a blow that was a little close to home for Steelers fans everywhere.

During Wild Card Weekend, the Chiefs hosted the Steelers in a matchup that was expected to not be overly close and, despite the slow start, ended up meeting said expectations.

To put it bluntly, the Chiefs absolutely decimated Pittsburgh. Sure, if quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had looked to the endzone on the final play, the final score could have read 42-28. However, watching the game made it feel nowhere near that close, with the score once reading 42-14 in the final quarter.

Especially when considering that such a beatdown might have unfolded in Big Ben’s final game, it’s pretty hard not to take that game personally. If the Bengals win in Arrowhead–which they are not favored to do–it could serve as a helping of revenge, courtesy of the AFC North.
