Completing short passes helps build the confidence of young quarterbacks who are transitioning to the NFL’s playing speed. Having a shifty slot receiver on the roster makes the task of completing these passes easier. Christian Kirk has made a career out of extending plays from the inside receiver position. The disadvantage he creates for inside defenders creates more opportunities for his team to move the ball downfield.

Explosive plays keep drives alive and Christian Kirk is known to be a play extender. His 12.3 yards per catch average is more than enough to move the first down sticks. Since joining the league in 2018, Kirk has accumulated 2,092 yards receiving. In 2022, Kirk’s nine hundred and eighty-two yards receiving helped the Arizona Cardinals reach the postseason.

When comparing stats from previous years, the former Texas A&M receiver stands out among other free agents. According to ESPN.com, Kirk has continued to surpass his receiving yard totals from the year before. Contributions like his would make a great fit in Pittsburgh‘s new offense.
